Ray Morrison, DVM & Jenifer Geisler, DVM
Husband and wife; Owners of the Practice
Drs. Morrison and Geisler are both 1987 graduates from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine located at Virginia Tech. After graduating, they practiced for two years in Charlotte, NC before moving to Winston-Salem to work at Ard-Vista Animal Hospital where, in 1991, they became owners.
Drs. Morrison and Geisler are proud parents of Katie, who will graduate from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2019; Margaret, who was adopted from China and who entered the Nursing program at Winston-Salem State University in 2018; and Yuri, who they adopted from Russia.
Dr. Geisler enjoys running (she has completed several half-marathons), gardening, and reading. In his spare time Dr. Morrison writes fiction, primarily short stories. His debut collection of short stories, In a World of Small Truths, was published by Press 53 (available for purchase at www.press53.com). His second book, another collection of short stories, titled I Hear the Human Noise, is scheduled for release in the spring of 2019.
Brian LeFevre, DVM
Dr. Brian LeFevre graduated from University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000 and started at Ard-Vista Animal hospital the same year. He lives in Winston-Salem, NC with his wife, Julia, sons Noah and Ben, and pets: Russell (mix breed dog), Alvin (boxer), Maude and Deedee (cats), Plum (hermit crab), Lewis & Clark & Poseidon (gerbils), and 4 fish.
His hobbies are mountain biking, running, and cooking.
Matthew Gessner, DVM
Dr. Matthew Gessner (Dr. Matt) graduated from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. He lives in Winston-Salem with his wife, Mary Pat, and their son Jackson. They share their home with their dogs Murphy, a lab-mix, Texas, a greyhound mix, and Winston, an English Bulldog, along with their cat, Owen. Dr. Gessner enjoys spending time in the outdoors in his Jeep, hiking our national park trails, or catching a game (just about any sport).
Paula Patton, DVM
Dr. Paula Patton graduated from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2016. She practiced in Kansas for several years before moving to North Carolina. Dr. Patton lives in Winston Salem with her husband, Eric, their blind dog Esme, and cat Tucker. They are expecting their first child, a boy, in January 2019. Her hobbies include horseback riding, hiking, knitting and origami.
